MOHAMMAD MASOOD KHAN
Azad Jammu & Kashmir
The Civil Service is the backbone of a country. It formulates public policy in accordance with the vision of the leadership and socio-economic dynamics of a country and executes it. Holistic development of a country depends to a great extent on the competence, efficiency and professionalism of its civil service.
The Civil Servants of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are doing a fine job in the development of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. They possess requisite experience and skills. They have consistently demonstrated drive and dynamism in the service of the people. To make their performance more efficient, they need professional training at various stages of their career to embrace modern management and administration techniques for improvement of service delivery.
For the past 10 years the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) has imparted professional trainings to civil servants of AJK. In this process, I am glad to recognize high standards of trainings it has established in a short span of time.
I commend the leadership of Director General, KIM, Brig Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah, SI (M), (Retd.) for transforming KIM into a competitive training institution at par with other such institutions of the country. Under his watch, it is fast becoming a center of excellence. The publications and research work done at KIM under the supervision of its local faculty are acknowledged for their quality and quantity. KIM is also contributing significantly to cultivating competencies of the civil servants of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in general and in specific areas.
I take this opportunity to congratulate Brig Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah, SI (M), (Retd.) and his able team for imparting modern professional training to the civil servants of Azad Kashmir. I assure my full support to KIM in its quest for developing new training regimes in AJK.
