Welcome to the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM), Muzaffarabad. KIM was initially established in 1990 as AJK Staff Training Institute (STI). It functioned as such till February 2003, with the basic aim to train officers and other cadres of the civil/public service of AJK; to enhance their professional skills. It was upgraded and re-designated as Kashmir Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) in 2003, on the analogy of National Institutes of Public Administration (NIPAs) operating in all four provincial capitals of Pakistan.

A delegation of the 2nd Mid-Career Management Course for Technical Departments (MCMC-TCH), Provincial Services Academy (PSA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM), Muzaffarabad, on 5th November 2026.
The Fourth Senior Management Course commenced at the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM), Muzaffarabad, on 2 November 2026. The course aims to enhance the leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, and administrative management skills of participating officers to strengthen governance and improve public service delivery.
Two-Day Workshop for Master Trainers on E-PADS
AJ&K Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, in collaboration with Federal PPRA and Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM), conducted a two-day training workshop for Master Trainers on the E-Pak Acquisition and Disposal System (E-PADS) on 27–28 October 2026 to enhance their knowledge and skills in public procurement.
A delegation of participants of the 206th Junior Management Course (JMC) of the WAPDA Administrative Staff College, Islamabad, visited KIM on September 16, 2026.
During the visit, the delegation was given a comprehensive briefing about the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) by the Directing Staff (Training & Coordination). The briefing highlighted the institute’s objectives, organizational structure, training programmes, academic activities, and its role in capacity building and professional development.
- Kashmir Institute of Management under the 11th Mid Career Management Course (MCMC-11), organized a special ceremony to celebrate the success of “Operation Bunyan um Marsoos” at the KIM Auditorium, Muzaffarabad. Ambassador (Retd.) M. Ayoub, Ambassador (Retd.) Dr. M. Khalid Ejaz, DG, KIM, and Director General ISPR AJK addressed the participants and audience, recalling the memorable moments and national spirit associated with the operation one year ago. The speakers highlighted the sacrifices, courage, and unity demonstrated during the period and emphasized the importance of patriotism, resilience, and collective commitment towards national peace and stability. Faculty members, course participants, and distinguished guests attended the event with great enthusiasm and solidarity.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Aims and Objectives of the Institute are as follows: To act as a Think Tank and Information Resource Center for the Government. To act as the Premier National Level Institute of AJK Government. To provide excellent training in the areas related to Leadership and Public Administration. To assess the training needs of different Government Departments. To design courses, determine curricula and their course contents. To organize Training Programmes, Discussions, Dissertations and Research Studies. To provide foundation or pre-service training to the fresh appointees (probationers).
